Walibi Belgium / Aqualibi

Our Walibi parks will soon have a new mascot

The Walibi parks will inaugurate their brand new mascot this season. A project lasting more than three years led by the CDA teams. The coordinated announcement of the three CDA Walibi parks, Walibi Belgium, Walibi Rhône-Alpes and Walibi Holland, was made on social networks this Tuesday March 3rd at 4pm.

The mascot appears from the conception of the first park in 1975, whose name is formed from that of the three communes that host it: WAvre, LImal and BIerges.
The word Walibi being quite close to Wallaby, the park mascot naturally takes on the appearance of a kangaroo. It was the son of the founder of the group who came up with the idea.

In 1975, the kangaroo is drawn wearing skis, in reference to the proposed water ski lift attraction. The mascot's graphic design evolved, and she lost her skis in 1979. In 1984, it is declined in the form of a plush toy, then becomes the mascot of other parks in Europe, including those which will become Walibi Rhône-Alpes and Walibi Holland.

The Walibi group joins CDA in 2006. A rebranding is initiated in 2011, with a new, younger and urban mascot, surrounded by secondary characters such as his brother, Squad. The ambition: to make Walibi a global entertainment brand with a development via comic strips, songs and cartoons, in a universe with the theme of music as a guiding theme.

This year, CDA is once again revisiting its mascot as part of the overall project to overhaul its universes. The new mascot will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
